A Civil Conversation In An Alternate Universe

In an alternate universe Glenn Beck (who looks a lot like Han Solo) and Jim Wallis (who looks a lot like Obi Wan Kenobi) sit down to have a civil discussion about social justice. The video below gives us the opportunity to listen in.

Dog-gone commie lib Christians, with their social justice, do-gooder, mumbo jumbo!

    Let them eat cake!

But then, what would it REALLY look like if the edges of our fields were left to be gleaned by the widow, the stranger among us (I think they’re called “illegal aliens”) and the orphan?

Would they be arrested by INS (or ICE, as it’s now called)? Would the radical right talking heads do their H.R. Puffinstuff routine on teevee and say we ought to allow them to be arrested for trespassing? Would they claim it all belongs to the land owner, that the government has no right to tell them what the land owner can and cannot do with their property?

Well now… we do already. For example, they’re told they can’t have a meth lab or grow dope on their property. Neither can they operate a house of ill repute (whore house, I think it’s called), nor can they do a buncha’ other things. So nix on that one.

Hmmm… “You say you want a revolution. Well you know, We all want to change the world. You say you’ll change the constitution. Well you know, We all want to change your head. You tell me it’s the institution, Well you know, You better free your mind instead.

What’s that 1970’s song? “Free your mind and your ass will follow?”

Ahh… there I go again with that commie, social justice lib stuff.

Perhaps we should prefer the more modern thumpa-dump with no music and obscene un-lyrical “lyrics”?
