Chocolate Rain was better?!? I didn’t know that the Queen was freely giving soma to her subjects, but it must be true because that is the only way I can account for your preference of Chocolate Rain over the Spanish Rap.

I guess humor, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder, and yet there are limits to subjectivity.

Chocolate Rain?!? Really?!?

I don’t know, maybe its the five plus years I spent floating at a community college, taking every class under Sun, including, of course, Spanish.

The bee’s knees… or, if you prefer, the bees’ knees – singular possessive, versus plural possessive.

And then, there’s the linguistic mystery of mispronunciation, thus rendering “business” into bee’s knees.

I had been hoping you’d be RITFLYAO – “your,” not “my.”

How again must we warp… er, wrap our tongues around that?

The corn pone humor doth seem a bit dry. ‘Course, it’s GEICO’s fault, not mine.

Please sir… may I have some more?

And since you asked, I once had a Pakistani friend whose mispronunciation of “Holmes,” (a common street nearby the university we both attended at the time), was rendered as “homeless.”

Given the nature of the socioeconomic strata in that environ, I thought it wholly proper, and more than fitting.

Thus, to this day, I too call it “Homeless Avenue.”

Anthony, yes, you could be fluent in Hispañola, but first, don’t you agree it’d be wise to become fluent in in English, FIRST?

I mean, I’ve never heard you rhyme anything… ‘cept maybe a song in church or somethin’ like that. And I’ve never read any of your poetry… or even if you write any!

Rhythm, meter and linquistic capacity (or should it be “lung”quistic?) are necessary for music – if by the most liberal definitions rap could be called such. It’s actually, a rhythmic invariance, wherein the “beat” or rhythm is predominate, and in fact, of solitary importance.

In the mean time, stick with Anglais.

Sadly because I am in the UK I’m not allowed to watch the clip. I assume that’s a rights management issue, though maybe the Queen is worried about the Spanish Inquisition, after all nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition.

My amusement with this line from the latter part of this series of clips reveals that a part of me really is still just a community college slacker, and I’ve come to realize that instead of fighting it I need to accept it, even embrace it as a part of my personality.
