Mr. Healy - Thank you for the clarification, and resolution, and by the way, what a nice and unexpected surprise. Back in the day I saw you, along with The Choir, and the 77s, play at a venue on Shattuck Avenue in Oakland, California. It was absolutely great to hear music by artists who could articulate my faith and my struggle, and who clearly respected music as a medium of innate value.

Greetings,
The song in question is called 'Hope' and it is on Prints of Darkness, and it was very inspired by Ash Wednesday.

Grace & Peace,
Brian Healy/DAS

I've never heard of Brian Healy nor of Dead Artist Syndrome. However, I have heard of Daniel Amos. Having searched, I probably found the same things you did, such as the typical Wikipedia stuff, and the odds-n-ends review.

As well, I searched the ASCAP, BMI & SESAC databases for songs and found numerous titles named or containing "Ash Wednesday." However, I don't know which one might be the one to which you refer, or even if it's the correct one.

Sometimes, the artists have or use stage names which are not their legal names, and the songs they write/compose are often listed under legal name. Since we're dealing with a legality issue (those firms are licensing agents), that's wholly understandable.

As well, sometimes the bridge of a song is not it's name, which may also be the case in not returning any hits that show Healy with Ash Wednesday. However, there was a group named Ash Wednesday.

Finally, sometimes musical artists collaborate, and one may be featured on a particular tune though not the artist whom wrote the album.

Those are some possible explanations.

Regarding your harriedness... take it easy! Lighten up!

I hope some of these help!

FYI, here are the links:

For those in the know, do any of you remember "Ash Wednesday," by Dead Artist Syndrome (aka Brian Healy)? I looked for it online, and it was not listed on any of his four albums. I thought it was either on "Prints of Darkness" or "Devils, Angels and Saints," but alas it was not listed. Am I making this up? Is the song a figment of my imagination? I cannot find my copy of any of these albums, and I wanted to upload this song to go with this post. Do any of you have it, if it indeed exists?

My God, I am falling apart. Am I a Christian? Is my name Anthony? Is this planet Earth? Am I a fan of BSG? Is this all a dream within a dream? Am I a brain in a vat? Does this song exist? Help!!
